The Eyebrow S T R U G G L E

  It has been brought to my attention that a huge number of ladies don't know how to draw eyebrows on correctly. This is a HUGE problem. When drawing on eyebrows the goal is to achieve an arch that compliments the eye. Instead, I've been seeing ladies with eyebrows that look like they've been sponsored by Nike. In this case we don't want to "Just Do It", we want to do it the right way. With that being said, lets take a look at a few images of eyebrows gone wrong.

 Now I know a few of you ladies are looking at the pictures going "What's wrong with their eyebrows, they're fine". Pause. If you think that the above images are "fine", then honey this post was meant for you. When on Gods green earth have you ever seen a runway model, actress, singer, or fashionista with eyebrow that look like any of the above images ? The answer is NEVER because you haven't ! Here is a list of commonly made mistakes: 

• Using the WRONG colored pencil - Everyone can't pull off black. Sometimes, depending on your skin, you have to change it up. Try red or brown. But remember to make sure it COMPLIMENTS your skin, not contradicts it. People with darker hair should use a pencil two shades lighter than their hair, and people with lighter hair should use a pencil two shades darker.  

 

• Incorrect length - When drawing on your eyebrows, it is important to draw them on the CORRECT length. Meaning, don't stop the pencil halfway and don't bring the pencil too far over. Your eyebrows should go the length of your eyelid. Not an inch longer or shorter.

• Un"Arch"tractive -  Not everyone can rock the same arch. The shape of your face, determines the kind of arch you can wear. 

  The diagram below shows the CORRECT way to determine the arch of your eyebrow, as well as the reason behind it. Every girl can't wear the same arch, because the type of arch they can wear is unique to the shape of their face. You can't have a heart shaped face, and wear the same arch someone with a long face wears. It just wouldn't work.Take a moment to look in the mirror, and decide what shape your face is. Once you've got that figured out, take notes on which part of the diagram applies to you.

 

• Eyeshadow Overload - In some cases, ladies will apply eyeshadow around their eyebrows, to enhance their brows, and bring more attention to them, or they'll use eyeshadow instead of a pencil to fill in their eyebrows. This is perfectly fine, however, when you start to look like Lady Gaga, its a problem. Once again, the objective is to COMPLIMENT the eye.
